CVRM HGV Technician
Location: Preston, PR1 6NY
Salary: Up to £22,00 per hour dependent on experience + Overtime
Hours: Monday to Friday (11:30am till 8:00pm)

We are a provider of commercial vehicle services, specialising in the repair and maintenance of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs). Our reputation is built on safety, reliability, and customer trust. We are now seeking an experienced CVRM HGV Technician to join our skilled workshop team and keep our fleet and customer vehicles in top condition.
The Role
As a CVRM HGV Technician, you will carry out inspections, servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide range of HGVs and trailers. You'll play a vital role in ensuring vehicles are safe, roadworthy, and compliant with industry regulations, while minimising downtime for our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
- Complete MOT preparations and ensure vehicles meet DVSA standards.
- Carry out safety checks in line with company and legal requirements.
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults and apply effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate service records, job cards, and compliance documentation.
- Work to deadlines to minimise vehicle downtime.
- Support colleagues in the workshop, sharing knowledge and best practice.
- Adhere to health & safety policies and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
About You
- Qualified HGV Technician / Mechanic (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
- Proven experience in CVRM (commercial vehicle repair & maintenance).
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of HGV systems, including engines, brakes, suspension, and electrics.
- A current HGV Licence (Class 1 or 2) desirable but not essential.
- MOT Tester certification desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
