Storagely Langley Mill Update

Storagely Langley Mill Update

Work continues onsite preparing our new Storagely Langley Mill site for launch, with the first containers currently being installed.

Storagely Langley Mill is nestled on the edge of the Erewash Valley on the Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire border. The River Erewash and canal form important wildlife corridors which is rich in plant and animal life. Inorder to protect this valuable natural area, we have installed a number of features to support the local wildlife alongside our developing business.

Snake Pits:

Two grass snake hibernacula (underground shelters) have been built on the edges of the site. Most commonly found in grasslands and wetlands, such as the Erewash Valley, the harmless, non-venomous Grass Snake is the UK's longest snake. The snake pits have been created by using a mixture of rocks, rubble, logs and brash, covered with a layer of topsoil or turf, providing an ideal habitat for these shy creatures.

Bird & Bat Boxes:

A number of bird boxes have been included to provide habitats for a range of small bird species. Additionally, two bat boxes will be installed on retained mature trees to provide additional roosting opportunities for bats in the area, such as Common and Soprano Pipistrelles.

These small but valuable additions to the site, are supportive of the Rotala environmental vision, to always consider limiting the impact of our businesses on the environment and to do what we can to help the environment in which we and our customers work and live.
